Today I took my cats to the vet, both had been sneezing and with the low temperatures we've been having I was worried it could get worse. Thankfully they didn't need medicine, but I was told to watch them and keep them warm. It's not going to be difficult because now that she can sleep on my bed again Bella's been disappearing under the covers. At night's usually freezing. I try to see it as a win-win situation given how cold I tend to be.

I'm also happy because Ghost is getting closer to two pounds which means he's growing healthy. He was so tiny when my brother brought him home. He's definitely got an appetite now.

Ghost was having none of it. It was a big no to the vet and the camera.

Bella doesn't care, as long as she can sleep after the vet it's all right.

"No, human, this is MY bag. Get your own."

Bella's found a new favorite napping and playing spot. I don't know what it is about this particular bag but she's claimed ownership and won't let me use it anymore.πŸ˜‘

If you have pets, how well do they take going to the vet? Do they have a favorite napping spots? Do they steal your bed? I'd love to hear about your pets. 😊🐢🐱

Aw, so cute! I hope they stay warm and healthy! <333

I have six cats and they all hate going to the vet (one of them is the absolute sweetest thing ever and wouldn't hurt a fly but she hisses so much there that the vet is a tiny bit afraid of her, haha). One of them sleeps in my bed, the rest prefer not to. And they all have favorite napping spots - one under a certain chair, another on top of the piano, and the rest in various spots around the family room. :D

My cat Iris has had her fair share of vet visits. She actually doesn't get hostile when she is being handled by the vet. She is pretty calm and easy to handle. It's just that since I commute to the vet she has a tendency to pee in her carrier so she has to sit in it until we get home.

Iris likes to sleep in awkward places. I bought her a bed and she would rather just sleep on the floor, or on top of a storage bin, or a book bag. I just let her do her thing.

Aww, I hope the cats feel better! They're so cute.

My dogs hate going to the vet. They usually start shaking a little once we get there. As for napping we have quite a few dog beds for them. There's one big one they both like, they like to nap there right in front of the little heater. At night though Jacoby sleeps with my parents and Shiloh sleeps with me. Shiloh always goes under the covers, Jacoby sometimes does.

Aww. Hope they're feeling better.

If you have pets, how well do they take going to the vet?
My beagle used to have a meltdown the whole way in that continued once she got to the vet. Due to that panic, the vet's always had me in there with her when she examines her, which seems to help. Now that I take her & the 2 labs in all at the same yearly vet visit, the beagle still cries, but she's much calmer. I have to carry her in. She still tries to bolt for freedom sometimes out of the waiting room. She's shy, but does usually speak to the human parents as the come in & USUALLY doesn't growl at the other dogs.
My labs are usually happy on the ride in since they ride in the back of the pickup, but once we get to town they start crying because they're not used to all the cars & smells. I don't leash them when we get there though. They just follow me in. The chocolate lab wants to be in my lap the whole time and the black lab tends to growl at other dogs, but wiggles with excitement if there's a cat.
When I took them for their yearly back in October, the vet said the highest highest heart rate (clearly based on stress) was the beagle & the lowest was the black lab, which reflected what I knew.

The cat goes by herself (and has less done). She cries the whole way in unless I stick a finger in the carrier & even then she sometimes cries. When I get into the vet, she plants herself against the back of the carrier. I was going to let her out while we waited last time since we were the only ones in the waiting room, but she stayed planted, so I just petted her. They take her for vaccines. I hear her make the distressed cat noise like in the movies, and then I drive her home, while she cries. I free her and she will only talk to the black lab for the next hour and the black lab "guards" her so no one takes her away again.

Do they have a favorite napping spots?
During the summer, they either like to be under the 4wheel drive Blazer, or planted directly in front of a fan. In the winter, the beagle likes a sunny spot & the labs tend to like the porch. They all also like out under this one pine tree at the crest of the hill in front of hte house so they can see everything.

Do they steal your bed?
Outdoor, so no. If they were indoor, the chocolate lab almost certainly would. And the cat does like to steal my seat at Daddy's workshop.
