Sardonyx is a sight to behold. When Pearl had said they should fuse, Garnet agreed. All Pearl wanted was to feel that connection again, the power and strength within themselves. There's harmony when they are together, like puzzle pieces fitting together. Locks and keys.
As Sardonyx they're beautiful, they're fantastic. Strength itself.
Once they're back to being Pearl and Garnet, she can't help but feel lonely. Pearl wants to be back in action with her friend. She wants their bond. She pictures all the great things they could achieve with their joint power.
Pearl wants their old glory back and save the day.

Lapis took the decision knowing well what it meant. She is using the strength and determination she always had.

Little by little Sapphire's cool touch brings her down, Ruby's former anger now a mere spark.
"I was afraid I'd lose you," Ruby whispers hanging her head.
"No, you won't lose me. I'll always be here."
Ruby grins, hugging Sapphire tightly close.
Always together, never apart. That is a vow they make. Ruby can only see Sapphire by her side as one.
